Using seven design principles and a simple method, the World Café is a powerful social technology for engaging people in conversations that matter, offering an effective antidote to the fast-paced fragmentation and lack of connection in today’s world. A full world cafe takes 2.5 hours. The time goes very quickly because you are participating the whole time. Participants will gather online and then break-out in groups of 2 to 4 for 15-20 minutes through 3 rotations of conversations. There is a 10 minute introduction, 10 minute group learnings after the first 2 rotations, a 20 minute harvesting session at the end, followed by a 10 minute wrap up to share take-aways.
Our Voice Counts is a series of in-person or internet gatherings of individuals (13-100 yrs. old) who are interested in having a voice in the positive co-evolution of our current education system. You will receive a Zoom Link to participate once you register. Once you join the conversation, you will be asked a powerful question that will elicit a story from you to share. Stories are full of information that allow us to know what is important to you and therefore, the world! Your stories and ideas are so valuable. When everyone is sharing their experiences through their own stories, and listening to others’, magic begins to happen -and participants begin to learn things in a new way, -a deeper way.
As you are sharing from your heart and others are truly listening to you, there is a cross-pollination of learning that begins to occur that can bring you many “ah-ha’s” about yourself and the world. This cross-pollination is what makes the World Cafe process so powerful. Your stories will take on a life of their own and come together in main themes and principles that are forming a new Declaration of Education for the world.
We currently have a disengaged, chronically stressed-out student body and teacher work-force. Our one-size-fits-all, archaic, ill-informed and competitive education system is actually unintentionally causing primary and secondary trauma in our young people. As a result, we are in a disconnection epidemic in our schools that is resulting in a current generation of stressed-out students who become less and less motivated, innovative or resilient and are unaware or too scared to do anything about it.

This new healthy and empowering educational story is already happening in bits and pieces all over the world making a difference. They are just needing to be gathered and centralized; we NEED your story to be heard and valued as a part of this WAVE OF CHANGE.
IMAGINE a new education system created by the people who learn and work there, and this system was powerful enough to not only shift its’ students and teachers into thriving, but also shift the planet into a healthy, peaceful and sustainable one for all to flourish.

*This is a participatory experience. This event will be online via Zoom. To support an atmosphere of connection and learning, we require all participants to have video engaged. (Please make sure to download & test Zoom in advance at https://zoom.us).
We understand that it can feel vulnerable to show yourself on video and participate. Most of us can feel a little intimidated to be seen, heard and valued in a group. It can feel really strange! And at the same time, we have found that this group can be a safe place to begin to practice being honored for you and your own stories and experiences.
